Combining intricate riffs and furious rhythms with anthemic, cascading vocals, Oxford's LestWeForget boast a unique brand of progressive metal that synthesises the complex and the catchy.

Since their inception in 2010, the band have appeared in front of 6,000 people at the Proud2 at London's infamous 02 Arena for the Live and Unsigned Final. They have also earned notable support slots with the likes of Yashin, Fearless Vampire Killers, Press to Meco, wars, Chapter and Verse and Martyr de Mona to name just a few.

The band recently released their ambitious new single for 'Zero Won', with the music video following yesterday. Recorded with Jamie McIntyre and mastered by Ermin Hamidovic (Architects, Periphery, Animals as Leaders), we caught up with lead vocalist and bass guitarist, JH Norris, to find out more!

"'Zero Won' is the first single taken from our, as yet untitled, upcoming EP,. It tells the story of the last two people alive after man's dependence on technology results in the downfall of humanity", explains Norris.

"...technological advancement eventually devastates humanity's ability to emotionally communicate..."

"The unique element of this narrative is that the desire for technological advancement eventually devastates humanity's ability to emotionally communicate with one another. The pair are not able to understand each other as a result."

"We took lyrical inspiration from bands such as Between the Buried and Me, who often craft lyrics that are deliberately mysterious and opaque. Musically, the song references a lot of Tesseract's work whilst maintaining some of the aggression of more "traditional" bands such as Architects."

"It's a very encouraging journey thus far!"

"The reaction to 'Zero Won' has been fantastic and we couldn't be more grateful for the support we've received. It's a very encouraging journey thus far!"

"Each band member has their own taste that brings a certain diversity of style to the table", continues Norris, "As well as Between the Buried and Me, Tesseract and Architects, we also love more symphonic bands such as Dream Theater and Avenged Sevenfold. These artists have an incredible range and musical imagination and we aim to be as forward thinking and ambitious in our writing style."

The band will be gigging extensively up and down the UK in 2019, with their next show being a headline slot at The Facebar in Reading on 7 February. Having previously sold out the 02 Academy 2 in their hometown of Oxford, the band will also be returning as headliners next month alongside Cypher16.
